Cloud Village - The perfect getaway!
On the way to our holiday destination in Italy, we had some setbacks. We were tired and when we were almost there it started to rain. For the last part of the journey we had to drive up a very narrow mountain road and I started to feel more and more tense, but then we drove trough the rain clouds and the sun was shining on us, there I saw our beautiful holiday house. Far away from everything, standing alone on top the of the clouds. This experience was my inspiration for the “Cloud Village” project. Holiday homes high in the clouds that provide the prefect getaway from the busy nowadays life.
Each house has his own feature that gives it his name.
The first sketch was “The Blueprint”. From there on I made more sketches and setups and started developing them into 3 dimensional models together with Vladi Rapaport. The result is a series of 6 collages, created from old travel books I found at a second hand markets.
When the houses were finished, I looked at my mood board and realised that I made even more collages. Together they explain the story of the “Cloud Village” by showing how they were built and the many surprising ways to get there.
